I promise. I will share my chips with you when you’ve finished yours and you’re still hungry. I promise to rub your belly when it growls. I will eat the mushrooms and tomatoes when we order Domino’s pizza. I will kiss the paper cuts and the door slammed fingers. I will try my hardest not to get annoyed with you when you whisper comments and questions during movies. I will be the big spoon. I will let you win at wrestling. Sometimes I will send you texts to brighten your day. I will greet you with coffee and a smile on cold winter mornings. I will rub your feet when they’re cold. I will light a fire in the fireplace and tell you how pretty you look in the golden glow.

oh man do you know if it's a common issue for parents to adopt iguanas for their kids who like lizards, not realizing that they get really big ? i saw lil ones in the shop, and i was like "oh man i hope parents don't get those for the kids unless they know"

YEAH unfortunately thats pretty common in the buying/adoption of a lot of reptiles, especially snakes -buyers are unprepared for the eventual size the animal will reach, and often they get taken to a shelter or are given away. SOME people though end up releasing their unwanted lizards and snakes into the wild, either forcing them to die in a climate theyre not adapted for OR, in some rare cases, disrupting the ecosystem around them
